Letter from Matt Dubon
As Trophy Lakes gears up for another season, we’ve made a few tweaks to keep you on your toes. Keep reading for the latest news from Trophy Locals, the latest plastic from Innova and Discraft as well as the few new surprises you’ll be experiencing on the course this upcoming summer.
Notable Performances:
Ace Hole #7 Red – Trevor Kruse
Ace, Hole #7 Red – Gram Anderson
Ace Hole #16 Red – Steven Stackley
Eagle Hole #11 Red – Matt DuBon
New Course Record: Blaine Kinkel – Blue: 51, Red: 46 (14 straight Birdies)
Latest and Greatest: After having just received our Spring orders from both Innova and Discraft, our Disc Golf ProShop is now overflowing with new plastic. Don’t feel bad for feeling like a kid in a candy store, we feel the same way, everyday. We’re still well stocked on Innova’s new Vulcan highspeed driver as well as their new Wahoo highspeed floater. We’ve also upped our game in the Discraft category, now carrying more Discraft plastic than ever before, more and more players are mixing it up with a variety of discs in their quiver, and why not? Not familiar with Discraft…just ask, or if you can catch him, talk to Trophy Local and course pro, Blaine Kinkel. Blaine is one of an elite few who’ve earned a Discraft sponsorship and rightfully so, you’d be hard pressed to find a more dedicated and personable ambassador for our sport, and he LOVES talking plastic.
Rumor has it: There’s chatter in the local disc golf community about a couple new courses in the works. A 9 hole course is being considered in the West Ashley area, just off Bees Ferry Rd. and another, a championship caliber course of 18 holes (or more), is another potential future course to find it’s home at the Governors Park on Daniel Island. As of now, this is all just rumor, but keep your fingers crossed and we’ll keep you posted as more info arises.
